Everton vs Newcastle – Predicted line up and match preview

Newcastle United face Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the Carabao Cup with a place in the quarter-finals at stake. Writing for NUFC Blog, Olly Hawkins previews the clash following Newcastle's league win at Crystal Palace. The Magpies will be backed by 8,000 travelling supporters on Merseyside as manager Matthias Jaissle aims to maintain momentum and build consistency using his 4-2-3-1 tactical system.

Hawkins expects Jaissle to field a strong side, projecting that Anthony Elanga could return to the starting lineup alongside recent returnees Amar Dedic, Joelinton, and William Osula. While noting Everton's recent scoring struggles and winless run under David Moyes, the writer predicts a 1-1 draw followed by a Newcastle victory on penalties.
