Newcastle United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Everton. Toon boss Matthias Jaissle says that his team must"learn fast" from their mistakes…

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle stated that his squad must learn fast and stop using youth as an excuse following their 3-1 Carabao Cup exit against Everton. Despite dominating possession and recording 28 shots, Newcastle conceded goals to James Garner, Hayden Hackney, and Thierno Barry before Dan Burn scored a late consolation.
Jaissle urged his players to display more maturity and eliminate defensive errors, noting that costly mistakes contributed to Everton's first and third goals. The defeat marks the first time since 2021 that Newcastle have failed to reach the tournament's quarter-finals, with the teams set to meet again in the Premier League.
