All of the latest news from Little Benton inside Chronicle Live's Newcastle United academy notebook

Assistant manager Engin Yanova has taken on a key role bridging Newcastle United's first team and academy by attending under-21 home fixtures. Under-21 lead coach Robbie Stockdale praised the communication between staff, noting that the first team closely monitors rising prospects. Meanwhile, internal excitement is building around 16-year-old midfielder Jayden Kouossu, an England youth international signed from West Brom, who has recently stepped up to make five appearances for the under-21 side.
Stockdale highlighted Kouossu's physical strength and high ceiling, noting the current focus is on developing his stamina and impact over 60 minutes. Elsewhere in the academy ranks, Newcastle's under-21s secured a 2-1 National League Cup victory over Hartlepool United following a 4-1 win against Luton Town. Additionally, 19-year-old loanee Rory Finneran scored his first professional goal during his loan spell at Notts County.
