Sunderland previously made the Mozambique international its top right-wing target during the summer window, but Sporting resisted a proposed permanent transfer worth up to €40 million.

Sporting CP reportedly continues to point toward Catamo's €60 million release clause, with the winger under contract through 2029. Alongside Newcastle and Sunderland, English clubs Everton, Leeds United, Bournemouth, and Brentford have also reportedly tracked Catamo, who remains interested in securing a move to the Premier League.
