Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Ajax youngster Aaron Bouwman as the club continues its search for a long-term successor to Fabian Schar.

Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring 19-year-old Ajax center-back Aaron Bouwman as a long-term replacement for Fabian Schar. The 6ft 6in defender has attracted interest from Newcastle scouts following recommendations by intermediaries, while Premier League rivals Chelsea are also reportedly tracking his progress.
Bouwman signed a long-term permanent contract with Ajax through 2030 last December and is currently recovering from a bruised sternum and bruised lung. Newcastle are planning for the future of their central defense, with veterans Schar and Dan Burn approaching the latter stages of their careers.
