Newcastle United reportedly hold an option to recall midfielder Ousmane Diabaté in January from his loan spell at Gençlerbirliği. Diabaté joined Newcastle from the Turkish side in September before immediately returning to them on a season-long loan for the 2026/27 campaign. Despite possessing the clause, Newcastle are currently expected to let the midfielder continue his development in Turkey rather than bringing him back midway through the season.
The recall option reportedly provides Newcastle with flexibility if circumstances change, although no decision has been made to end the loan early. Diabaté has also gained valuable senior experience internationally, playing 90 minutes for Guinea in a 1-0 victory over Kenya after recently featuring against South Africa.
