Lee Carsley explains what he wishes Nottingham Forest star Liam Delap had done last summer

Lee Carsley has stated that he wishes Nottingham Forest striker Liam Delap had played in the Under-21 European Championships in the summer of 2025. Delap instead chose to participate in the Club World Cup to impress at Chelsea following a £30 million transfer, missing out on England's tournament victory.

Delap has since joined Nottingham Forest as their record signing for close to £50 million and recently scored against Aston Villa under manager Oliver Glasner. Carsley highlighted the ongoing need for strikers in the England setup and suggested Delap could earn senior consideration with strong performances.
