Nottingham Forest transfer latest – midfielder ‘checked on’, striker bid claim made

Nottingham Forest have reportedly checked on AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. Brentford have also monitored the former Chelsea player, while Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have enquired about him and teammate Fikayo Tomori. Loftus-Cheek is reportedly keen on a Premier League return and will be out of contract at Milan next summer, which could make him available for a cut-price fee.

Separately, reports from 4-4-2.com claim Forest had a €70 million (£58 million) permanent transfer bid rejected in the summer for Brentford striker Igor Thiago. The Bees reportedly value the 25-year-old at €80-90 million (£67-75 million). However, the Nottingham Post reports that head coach Oliver Glasner is expected to maintain patience with summer record signing Liam Delap rather than pursue another costly forward.
