Supporters have described congestion near the Stadium of Light’s North West corner, with fan group Red and White Army appealing for first-hand accounts.

Sunderland supporters reported severe crowd congestion and dangerous bottlenecks near the Stadium of Light's North West corner ahead of a Europa League match against Dinamo Zagreb. Witnesses stated that children had to be lifted out of the crowd to safety as tensions rose before and during the start of the match.
The congestion reportedly occurred because home fans were diverted and turnstiles were closed to accommodate an escort of visiting supporters. In response, supporters' group Red and White Army (RAWA) launched an appeal for first-hand accounts to present safety concerns directly to Sunderland AFC.
