Regis Le Bris is set to welcome a new face into his Sunderland backroom team, with Thor Herdal replacing James Brayne as set-piece coach
Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has added Thor Herdal to his backroom staff as the club's new set-piece coach. The 34-year-old arrives from Danish side FC Nordsjælland to replace James Brayne, subject to visa and regulatory approvals.
Herdal spent five years with FC Nordsjælland's first team and also served as an assistant coach and set-piece specialist for the Danish national team during their 2025/26 World Cup qualification campaign. He will work directly alongside Le Bris and the first-team coaching staff following Brayne's departure.
