"For a long time Tottenham played without this blood, this character." 🩸
Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi revealed he thanked and kissed Rodrigo Bentancur following his red card against Manchester United. Bentancur was sent off in the 78th minute for head-butting Luke Shaw after Bryan Mbeumo had put United ahead. Despite being down to ten men, Spurs managed a 1-1 draw courtesy of a stoppage-time equalizer from Dominic Solanke.
While acknowledging that Bentancur made a mistake, De Zerbi praised the midfielder's response as a display of character that energized the squad. The result leaves Tottenham in the relegation zone with three points from their first six games, but the manager expressed satisfaction with his team's improved spirit and unity.
