The Premier League's Key Match Incidents Panel supported referee Stuart Attwell's decisions during Tottenham Hotspur's draw against Manchester United. The panel voted unanimously 5-0 that Rodrigo Bentancur deserved a straight red card for violent conduct after allegedly head-butting Luke Shaw. Bentancur has received a three-match suspension for the incident at Old Trafford.
Regarding Shaw, four of the five panel members agreed that his push on Bentancur warranted only a yellow card, noting his aggressive actions did not meet the violent conduct threshold. One dissenting panelist argued that Shaw's push involved excessive force and should have resulted in a VAR-recommended red card.
