Key Match Incidents panel supports Rodrigo Bentancur’s red card vs Manchester United and agrees Luke Shaw avoided dismissal correctly.
The Premier League's Key Match Incidents panel ruled that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was correctly sent off for violent conduct against Manchester United. Bentancur received a straight red card from referee Stuart Attwell in the 78th minute of the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford after driving his head into Luke Shaw during an off-the-ball confrontation.
The panel also supported the decision not to send off Shaw, determining his initial push was aggressive but did not warrant a dismissal. Bentancur will now serve a three-match suspension, leaving Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi with reduced midfield options.
