De Zerbi allowed Spence to leave for Inter Milan this summer

GiveMeSport's Lee Wilmot highlights 16-year-old academy defender Oscar Sandiford as a potential long-term replacement for Djed Spence at Tottenham Hotspur. Spence was sold to Inter Milan for £30 million in the summer, leaving manager Roberto De Zerbi short of right-back options following an injury to Pedro Porro.
Sandiford was recently named in The Guardian's Next Generation 2026 list after impressing for Tottenham's Under-18s side and the England Under-18 team. The childhood Spurs supporter joined from Crystal Palace in 2024 and has already recorded three assists in five league matches this season.
