James Maddison has backed Tottenham Hotspur teammate Mathys Tel, echoing Sandro Tonali's praise for the French forward's skill and pace. Speaking to Sky Sports, Maddison named Tel as the most skillful player in the squad, highlighting his ability in one-on-one situations and predicting fans will see his best form under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Tel has faced inconsistency this season without a goal or assist, recently remaining an unused substitute in a 1-1 draw against United. Maddison also joked that summer signing Jan Paul van Hecke is De Zerbi's "teacher's pet" due to their prior relationship at Brighton.
