Tottenham youngster is pushing for further first-team involvement
Tottenham Hotspur teenager Luca Williams-Barnett has officially been promoted to Roberto De Zerbi's first-team squad after featuring in the club's official photo. Despite the promotion, a January loan move could suit all parties as senior playing time remains limited. De Zerbi described the 18-year-old winger as a potential top player but remains cautious about playing academy prospects while Tottenham sits bottom of the Premier League table.
First-team opportunities are increasingly scarce following Tottenham's elimination from the Carabao Cup and lack of European football. Furthermore, senior forwards Dejan Kulusevski and Chelsea loanee Mykhailo Mudryk are nearing returns from injury. Sam Tabuteau writes that while Williams-Barnett impressed with 16 goals and eight assists at the youth level last season, a temporary departure may be essential for his development.
