The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko faces the prospect of spending an entire season sidelined without playing any minutes. After arriving at Tottenham from Newcastle United for £30 million in 2016, Sissoko overcame an initial struggle under manager Mauricio Pochettino to make over 200 appearances and score five goals for the club.

Sissoko featured in the 2019 Champions League final, where an early handball contributed to Tottenham's 2-0 defeat against Liverpool.
