There have been protests in Ireland over the decision to fulfil two Nations League fixtures
The Republic of Ireland's pre-match press conference was abruptly halted on Saturday following confrontations ahead of their Nations League match against Israel. Tensions escalated when an Israeli journalist asked about an unrelated flight stabbing, followed by another claiming racism against Irish players. The Football Association of Ireland dismissed the allegations as completely untrue before officials ended the media briefing amid shouting.
Manager Heimir Hallgrimsson stated that simply surviving the camp together would feel like a massive win for his squad. The reverse fixture is scheduled to be played behind closed doors in Backa Topola, Serbia, on Sunday.
