Aberdeen manager sees new Pittodrie cult hero and leader as last of a dying breed

Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson praised goalkeeper Marius Muller, calling the German stopper a standards driver and a rare natural leader. Muller has emerged as a fan favorite following a standout display in the Premier Sports Cup against Kilmarnock, where he made three penalty saves during a shootout to secure victory.

Muller joined Aberdeen from Wolfsburg over the summer after previous goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov signaled his intention to leave. Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel helped recruit the 33-year-old, whose leadership and Bundesliga experience Robinson credited with driving high standards within the squad.
