Ferguson recalled the moment he "couldn't speak" when his grandson came to visit him in the hospital.

Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he temporarily lost the ability to speak following emergency surgery for a brain hemorrhage in 2018. Speaking on BBC Breakfast while promoting his new book, 'Games of My Life', the 84-year-old former manager recalled the frightening experience when his grandsons visited him in the hospital and he could not talk. He regained his voice after working with a speech therapist on cognitive naming exercises.
Ferguson also reflected on the emotional standing ovation he received upon returning to Old Trafford with his late wife, Cathy, four months after the operation. Now approaching his 85th birthday, the former Aberdeen and Manchester United manager stated that he is currently feeling well despite minor injuries.
