Celtic player Benjamin Nygren admitted the squad is still struggling to overcome their Champions League playoff elimination. Martin O'Neill's side initially held a 4-0 aggregate lead against LASK before conceding five consecutive goals to drop into the Europa League. Speaking ahead of Sweden's Nations League match against Poland, Nygren stated the team must move on from the disappointment as quickly as possible.
Following the European exit, Celtic initially rebounded with Scottish Premiership victories over Falkirk, Aberdeen, St Mirren, and St Johnstone. However, they subsequently suffered setbacks before the international break, losing two matches to rivals Rangers alongside a home Europa League defeat against Ferencvaros.
