The Celtic board is fortunate to be able to hide behind league and cup success on a domestic level.

Writer Jamie Kemble of The Celtic Bhoys argues that the Celtic board's perceived mismanagement and reduced investment would cause the club to plummet toward relegation if they played in another football system, such as England's. He asserts that Scottish football acts as a protective blanket rather than a restriction, shielding the leadership from the consequences of their lack of ambition.
According to Kemble, Celtic's significantly larger budget compared to domestic rivals allows them to secure domestic titles despite organizational inefficiencies. He warns supporters not to let domestic silverware disguise these operational shortcomings, claiming that in more competitive leagues, similar mismanagement has seen major clubs drop down the divisions.
