Celtic Supporters Ltd has pushed back against speculation that Celtic plc could hold its upcoming Annual General Meeting entirely digitally. Rumors of a remote meeting were initially shared by Frank McAvennie ahead of next month's gathering. In response, the shareholder group stated on X that company law requires an in-person venue and that moving to a virtual-only format would require a 75 percent shareholder vote to alter company articles.
The speculation follows a chaotic AGM last year, which chairman Peter Lawwell adjourned amid intense protests from shareholders. That meeting collapsed without a planned Q&A following a controversial speech by Ross Desmond. Tensions between the Celtic board and supporters remain elevated, highlighted by recent protests targeting major shareholder Dermot Desmond.
