Dundee United are attempting to secure the future of left-back Will Ferry by offering him a new contract following a summer of transfer speculation. The Scottish Premiership club had previously accepted a £1.7 million bid for the 25-year-old from Czech side Sigma Olomouc, but Ferry rejected the permanent transfer. Celtic were also linked with the defender during the transfer window, though no fresh bid has been made.
Dundee United chief executive Luigi Capuano confirmed ongoing contract discussions with Ferry's representatives to protect the club's position. Capuano praised the professionalism of the defender, who continues to feature for manager Jim Goodwin's team, while noting the club previously rejected multiple bids that fell below their valuation.
