Dermot Desmond’s game of golf was ruined on Sunday at the Alfred Dunhill Links golf tournament in St Andrews. Celtic’s majority shareholder isn’t a popular…

Scottish journalist Peter Martin has labeled Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond as arrogant following a protest by supporters during a golf event. Protesting fans threw tennis balls toward Desmond while he was playing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews. Speaking on talkSPORT, Martin highlighted a deep division between the club's board and sections of the fanbase.
Martin pointed to widespread dissatisfaction regarding Celtic's recruitment policy, European ambition, and poor communication from leadership. Following the incident, Celtic issued a statement condemning the protest and stripped the Celtic Fans Collective of recognition. Martin noted that while abusing board members is unacceptable, the relationship between Desmond and the fans is far from being repaired.
