Celtic have reportedly notified FIFA regarding unpaid transfer installments from Brazilian club Internacional for defender Alexandro Bernabei. The Scottish champions could now be owed up to £5million following escalating fees from the original agreement, raising fears that Internacional could face a potential transfer ban.

Bernabei completed a permanent transfer to the Brazilian Serie A side in January 2025 after a loan spell. Internacional currently face financial difficulties with around £6million in debts and are battling potential relegation to Serie B, which threatens their overall budget.
