The Aberdeen academy graduate who swapped Pittodrie for Uppsala is hoping Sweden can provide the same platform for his own Scotland breakthrough

Former Aberdeen academy player Finlay Neat is aiming to forge a path to the Scotland national team through Swedish football. The 20-year-old striker plays for IK Sirius and is currently on loan at second-tier side Norrby IF to gain senior experience, having previously spent six years developing in Malmo's youth academy following a family relocation.
Neat draws inspiration from former Sirius teammate Robbie Ure, who earned a move to Sevilla and a Scotland call-up after shining in the Allsvenskan. Following Ure's departure, Neat hopes to establish himself as a regular starter at Sirius and eventually achieve his ultimate ambition of playing internationally for Scotland.
