Hibernian have banned ultras group Block Seven from attending tonight’s Scottish Premiership clash against Kilmarnock at Easter Road following unlawful pyrotechnic use. The immediate one-match suspension carries an additional suspended three-game ban for the early 2026/27 campaign.
Easter Road chiefs finally cracked down on rogue supporter behaviour just hours before Tuesday night’s kick-off in Leith. The club hierarchy dropped the heavy hammer following repeated incidents involving pyrotechnics and unacceptable conduct across the opening stretch of the 2026/27 season, leaving the ultras section empty for Kilmarnock’s visit.
Explaining the immediate one-match ban and the heavy suspended sentence hanging over future fixtures, Hibs made their position firm. “The club will monitor the situation and reserves the right to utilise the further three-match sanction should there be any further unacceptable conduct incidents involving Block Seven during the suspended period.”
League hierarchy was consulted before the punishment was delivered directly to group leaders ahead of the game. “The club has discussed the decision with the SPFL and are in communication with representatives from Block Seven, who have been made fully aware of the sanction and have accepted the decision.”
Illegal pyrotechnics have drawn fierce scrutiny across Scottish football, and Hibs reinforced their zero-tolerance stance in a direct warning to the fan base. “However, the use of pyrotechnics is unacceptable, as it is a breach of the club’s Ground Regulations and Unacceptable Conduct policies, and the club has a responsibility to act when such incidents occur.”
In a stern message alongside Police Scotland, the club made it clear that criminal consequences await anyone breaking stadium rules, whether at home or on the road. “Regardless of whether we are playing at home or away, individuals involved in unacceptable conduct may face an indefinite club ban or a Football Banning Order, while serious offences may also result in criminal prosecution.”
The sanction comes at a crucial moment on the pitch. Hibs currently sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership table with just six points from five games, coming off a disappointing 2-1 defeat against St. Johnstone. With a heavy fixture list including Aberdeen’s arrival in Leith this Saturday, the team must generate their own spark without Block Seven bringing the noise.
