Old Firm-linked wonderkid Dowman was shown a straight red card as Arsenal suffered a shock Carabao Cup exit against Fleetwood Town.
Arsenal teenager Max Dowman received a straight red card during his team's shock Carabao Cup defeat against Fleetwood Town. The youngster was dismissed late in the match by referee Michael Salisbury after appearing to kick out at Fleetwood's Harrison Neal, which sparked a confrontation between both sides. Following a 1-1 draw, Fleetwood eliminated Arsenal on penalties.
The dismissal comes amid reported interest from both Celtic and Rangers, who have reportedly held talks with Arsenal regarding a potential January loan move. Dowman turns 17 on December 31, but Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta have yet to make a final decision on sanctioning a temporary departure.
