Derek McInnes provides latest update from Ibrox…

Rangers manager Derek McInnes revealed that an illness bug has affected about half a dozen squad members ahead of Saturday's match against St Johnstone. The outbreak impacted preparations following a 2-2 draw with Dundee that left Rangers four points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. McInnes noted that the team doctor reported an issue regarding a regular starter, though he hopes to avoid making sweeping changes to the lineup.
Left-back Tuur Rommens missed an organized bounce match against Dundee due to the illness, delaying his return from an August groin strain. However, McInnes confirmed that Rommens has returned to training over the last two days. The manager utilized the midweek friendly to build match sharpness for fringe players ahead of a congested fixture run that includes league games and a cup semifinal.
