Nicolò Barella admits Inter had their ‘backs against the wall’ with Shakhtar Donetsk when down…

Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella admitted that his team's 1-0 Champions League victory against Shakhtar Donetsk may not have been fully deserved, but stressed that securing the result was all that mattered. Inter Milan were reduced to 10 men following two quick yellow cards for Alessandro Bastoni. Carlos Augusto secured the win by capitalizing on a counter-attack from a Henrikh Mkhitaryan pass.
Captaining the side in place of the injured Lautaro Martinez, Barella acknowledged that tension and sluggish energy affected Inter's start after previous European defeats. He noted that despite Shakhtar's high tempo, Inter successfully absorbed pressure while a man down to claim crucial points.
