Inter head coach Cristian Chivu admitted his side were fortunate to defeat Venezia 2-0 on Wednesday, stating he wanted to replace every player at half-time. Inter secured the away victory courtesy of two own goals from Venezia, maintaining their position at the top of Serie A alongside Lazio with 25 points from nine matches.
Chivu credited Venezia's low block and acknowledged that goalkeeper Ivan Provedel kept Inter in the match during difficult moments. He also commended Carlos Augusto's contribution in a three-man defense despite an illness, as Inter now prepare to face rivals AC Milan in their upcoming derby.
