Gasperini sends transfer request to Roma: ‘Essential’

AS Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini stated that acquiring a deeper squad is essential to navigate multiple competitions amid a demanding schedule. Speaking ahead of Roma's Serie A fixture against Genoa, Gasperini highlighted that modern European fixture congestion necessitates squad reinforcements, noting that Roma will be missing five regular starters due to injuries and suspension.

Roma recently suffered a 4-3 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid after conceding three late set-piece goals, which Gasperini labeled an anomaly. Due to injuries to Paulo Dybala and Manu Kone, alongside Donyell Malen serving a one-game ban, Gasperini confirmed that striker Santiago Castro and youth players will feature prominently.
