Mazzara: Head of Football ‘needed’ with Milan expected to be in the red

AC Milan are expected to appoint a Head of Football or Sporting Director in the coming months, according to journalist Pietro Mazzara. The club previously considered candidates including Eintracht Frankfurt's Markus Krösche, who remains an option alongside other targets. Mazzara argued that establishing a sporting director is essential to bridge the management structure between owner Gerry Cardinale and manager Ruben Amorim.

The strategic appointment comes as AC Milan's board of directors prepares to approve the 2025-26 financial year results. The club is expected to report a consolidated loss of approximately €25 million, largely driven by a revenue shortfall of €70 million to €80 million after failing to qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League.
