Napoli to Reportedly Go After Barcelona Star in January

Napoli are reportedly preparing an offer to sign Barcelona midfielder Gavi during the January transfer window. The Italian club are aiming to rebuild their midfield and are preparing a permanent transfer proposal of €30 million plus €10 million in add-ons to meet Barcelona's €40 million price tag. The 22-year-old Spaniard has reportedly made only five substitute appearances this season following two serious knee injuries in the past three years.

Napoli face potential departures in midfield, with Frank Anguissa's future uncertain and contract renewal talks regarding Scott McTominay proving difficult. Napoli director Giovanni Manna confirmed the club hopes to find an economical solution to extend McTominay's deal. Meanwhile, The Cult of Calcio argues it would be surprising if Napoli successfully acquire Gavi midway through the season.
