According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A clubs are divided over whether to back Adriano Galliani or Giovanni Malagò for the FIGC presidency ahead of the December 14 election. Inter, Atalanta, Como, and Sassuolo reportedly support Galliani, while Napoli, Roma, and Bologna continue to back Malagò. Fourteen clubs are scheduled to meet informally before the November 4 application deadline.
A candidate requires 11 votes from Serie A clubs to become their official candidate, representing 18% of the total electoral vote. Frustration with Malagò reportedly grew over decisions like rehiring Roberto Mancini without consulting clubs. A new election was called after Malagò was found not to be an official FIGC member during the June 22 vote.
