The Turkish football federation has officially dismissed Vincenzo Montella from his role as head coach of the Turkiye national team. The decision came on Friday following four consecutive defeats to begin their UEFA Nations League campaign, including two losses to Italy, a 3-0 defeat against Belgium, and a 1-0 loss to France.
Montella had managed the national side since September 2023, guiding Turkiye to Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup. His recent Nations League matches were played without key players Hakan Calhanoglu, Kenan Yildiz, and Arda Guler.
