Serie A proposal accepted to open January transfer window on December 28

The FIGC has accepted a proposal from Serie A clubs to open the upcoming winter transfer window early on December 28, 2026. The move is currently pending final approval from FIFA before it can take effect across Italian soccer. The window was originally scheduled to open on January 2, 2027.

Clubs requested the earlier date to complete trades within the current financial year and help balance their books. The extended window will run through February 1, 2027, applying to clubs in Serie A, Serie B, and Lega Pro.
