The Story in 60 Seconds

A world-record 53 red cards were issued during a chaotic Minas Gerais Under-20 Championship semi-final match between Brazilian clubs Uberlandia and Mamore. The dismissals included 43 players, eight coaching staff members, and two Uberlandia board members following a mass brawl. Referee Fernando Patrick Drosghic Modesto abandoned the match after Mamore took a 3-1 lead.

The fight was ignited when Mamore player Davi taunted the opposition bench, prompting Uberlandia goalkeeping coach Paulo Sergio Dias Dos Santos to storm the pitch. Extensive stadium damage prompted a military police response. Due to player shortages resulting from the dismissals, Uberlandia conceded the second leg, allowing Mamore to advance to the final.
