Abel Sanchez Rejects Ryan Garcia’s Fighter of the Year Case

Veteran boxing trainer Abel Sanchez has rejected Ryan Garcia's candidacy for Fighter of the Year, arguing that his marquee victories lack substance upon closer examination. Sanchez stated to Fight Hub TV that Garcia's wins over Conor Benn and Mario Barrios do not match the accomplishments of other contenders. Instead, the trainer threw his support behind O'Shaquie Foster and Daniel Dubois.

Sanchez dismissed Benn's former WBC ranking, arguing he lacked elite experience prior to facing Garcia, while labeling Barrios an elevated titlist who showed vulnerabilities against past opponents. To Sanchez, Foster's unification wins and Dubois's stoppage victories over Fabio Wardley represent far more credible claims to the award.
