David Benavidez Highlights His Next Three-Fight Contract Ft. Usyk, Beterbiev Parting Ways With Canelo Bout

David Benavidez has revealed plans for an upcoming three-fight contract targeting Jai Opetaia, Artur Beterbiev, and Oleksandr Usyk, moving on from a long-speculated bout against Canelo Alvarez. Speaking to Brian Custer, Benavidez stated that the proposed bouts would take place at cruiserweight or potentially heavyweight in the case of Usyk, as he aims for legacy-defining matchups across multiple weight classes.

The development follows Benavidez unifying cruiserweight titles by stopping Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez and vacating his WBC light heavyweight belt. While Benavidez is linked to a potential clash with WBC cruiserweight champion Michal Cieslak to close out his arrangement with promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, Alvarez remains focused on super middleweight, leading trainer Eddy Reynoso to indicate that the window for a Benavidez fight has passed.
