Johnson, an all-time UFC great, knows Strickland's pay struggle firsthand — and thinks he's handling it wrong.
Former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson offered candid advice to UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland regarding his public contract and pay dispute with the promotion. Strickland recently launched a social media tirade criticizing the UFC over fighter compensation and contract terms after his scheduled UFC 335 title defense fell through.
Johnson noted he had previously been in Strickland's exact position while dealing with the promotion. Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White publicly rejected Strickland's alternative interest in crossing over to fight Zuffa boxing cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.
