Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson reignited talks for a potential super fight through a public exchange on social media. However, Haney revealed that negotiations remain stalled because Stevenson is demanding a rehydration clause in the fight contract. Although Stevenson appears willing to move up to welterweight, Haney has publicly urged him to drop the clause before any deal is finalized.
Talks earlier this year collapsed over weight stipulations, with Stevenson initially pushing for a 144-pound catchweight while Haney demanded 147 pounds. Haney has been inactive since capturing the WBO welterweight title against Brian Norman Jr, while Stevenson has not fought since claiming a super-lightweight belt from Teofimo Lopez in January.
