Giorgio Visioli Edges Maxi Hughes By Majority Decision

Giorgio Visioli defeated veteran Maxi Hughes via a 10-round majority decision on Saturday, October 24, at Utilita Arena in Sheffield. Two judges scored the fight 96-94 in favor of Visioli, while the third scored it a 95-95 draw. With the victory, the 23-year-old fighter improved his record to 12-0 and claimed the vacant WBC International Silver lightweight title on the Dalton Smith vs. Alberto Puello undercard.

Hughes pushed the younger prospect throughout the bout, finding success in a dominant eighth round where he landed combinations and cut Visioli above his left eye. Although Hughes dropped to 29-10-2 and his team expressed frustration with the scoring, Visioli held on during the closely contested final rounds to secure the biggest victory of his career.
