Unbeaten Albanian heavyweight Nelson Hysa has reportedly pulled out of a WBC world title fight against champion Agit Kabayel. According to promoter Frank Warren, terms and a contract had been agreed upon before Hysa withdrew from the opportunity. Kabayel is still scheduled to defend his title in Germany later this year against a top-10 opponent.
Kabayel was elevated to full WBC world champion in June after Oleksandr Usyk vacated his titles. The 33-year-old German-Kurdish fighter is looking to defend his belt before pursuing a unification bout next year. Warren stated that a replacement opponent for Kabayel will be announced next week.
