Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson revealed in a new Netflix documentary that he suffered near-fatal drug overdoses during his career before finding recovery through a psychedelic toad venom treatment. Tyson shared that he experienced extreme overdoses, recalling instances where he bled and became hysterical before seeking alternative medical intervention.
Tyson's wife, Lakiha Spicer, explained that a friend introduced them to a shaman who administered 5-MeO-DMT, derived from the Bufo alvarius toad. Tyson stated that he has used the psychedelic over 100 times, crediting the treatment with helping him stop using cocaine and alcohol.
