Richardson Hitchins declared that his proposed boxing match against Keyshawn Davis is off, alleging that Davis demanded a $6 million purse to make the bout happen. Hitchins stated on social media that he had already agreed to terms nearly two months prior and claimed Davis has never earned over $1 million for a fight.
The article notes that these figures represent only Hitchins's account of the negotiations, with Davis's side and official purse offers remaining unconfirmed. Boxing News 24 argues that demanding an excessive purse could cost Davis a valuable opportunity to secure a high-profile win.
