‘We’re mandatory for his title’: Jack Catterall pursuing title shot against Teofimo Lopez

Jack Catterall has expressed his intention to enforce his mandatory WBA title shot against WBA "super" world champion Teofimo Lopez. Catterall recently won the WBA "regular" world title by defeating Shakhram Giyasov in Egypt. He is now working with his manager and Matchroom to have the WBA officially order the championship fight.

While Lopez reportedly prefers lucrative matchups against Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney, Catterall believes Lopez should honor the mandatory rules. Catterall expects the WBA to order the bout soon, forcing Lopez to either accept the fight or vacate his title.
