The wrist spinner credits MS Dhoni's on-field guidance for simplifying his bowling approach during India's international matches.
Indian wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal credited former captain and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni for shaping his international bowling career. Speaking on Aakash Chopra's podcast, Chahal shared that Dhoni's on-field guidance from behind the stumps simplified roughly half of his and Kuldeep Yadav's tactical work during matches by providing real-time instructions and adjustments based on pitch behavior.
Chahal highlighted India's 2018 ODI against South Africa in Centurion, where Dhoni's advice helped him dismiss JP Duminy on the way to a five-wicket haul. While Chahal acknowledged that Dhoni's retirement was felt, he noted that Dhoni had prepared the spinners to make their own mature decisions.
