Yes, you heard it right! AB de Villiers is scared of Virat Kohli. Now, you must be wondering how this is even possible. After all, the two are very good friends and share a special bond from their days together…
Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers stated in an interview with Sports Today that he is scared of how unstoppable close friend Virat Kohli has become. De Villiers explained that Kohli appears more relaxed, mentally free, and dangerous than during his prime, playing with instinct and freedom ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Kohli has enjoyed an exceptional 2026 ODI campaign, scoring 552 runs across nine matches at an average of 78.86 and a strike rate around 118. His performances include two centuries—highlighted by an unbeaten 139 off 88 balls against the West Indies—alongside three half-centuries.
